Navigating the Nervous System

This workshop provides a simple overview of the nervous system and introduces a toolbox that supports improved sleep, reduced anxiety, stress/tension release, pain management, increased energy and overall well-being. Participants will gain an understanding of the natural stress-relaxation cycle as well as awareness around subtle cues and sensations in their bodies (physical, mental & emotional) that let them know the nervous system is out of balance & perhaps change their relationship to stress. Various breath/mind tools and movements will be introduced that can be used throughout the day to reduce overwhelm.
Keeping in line with the principles of yoga therapy, this course is designed to empower by allowing YOU to choose & discover which tools work best for YOUR body & mind. Included techniques are: the Therapeutic Tremor (the body’s natural built in mechanism to release tension) and Yoga Nidra (guided meditation). (practice is 2:30-4:30)
Handouts will be provided for continued home practice.
No prior experience required and all fitness levels or challenges in mobility are welcome. Class size limited to 12 participants. Participants must be 18 years or older.
Sharon Holly, C-IAYT/YTRx-800c, is a Certified Yoga Therapist and a Certified TRE® (Trauma/Tension Release Exercises) Provider. She graduated from the Loyola Marymount University Yoga Therapy Rx, TRE® Los Angeles & The Resilience Toolkit Certification programs.
